Touchscreen Dead Zone Tester

Tap and drag across the grid โ€” every cell you touch lights up green. Tap Finish test to reveal the cells that never responded: those are your dead zones. Free, no signup.

Tip: drag your finger slowly over the whole grid, including the edges and corners โ€” dead zones usually hide there. Fullscreen hides the browser bars so you can test the very edges of your screen. Multi-touch is counted live above.

๐Ÿ”’ Private by design: the whole test runs on your device โ€” no touch data ever leaves your phone.

Some phones and tablets develop dead zones โ€” areas of the screen that stop responding to touch, often after a drop, a bad screen replacement, or just wear. This tool helps you find them: drag your finger across the grid and every cell you touch lights up green. The cells that stay blank after a full sweep are the areas your screen is missing.

It also counts multi-touch live, so you can check whether your screen still tracks two or more fingers at once.

How to use

  1. Tap Fullscreen to hide the browser bars and test the very edges of your screen.
  2. Drag your finger slowly over the whole grid, covering edges and corners.
  3. Tap Finish test โ€” missed cells turn red and you get a summary of how many dead areas were found.
  4. Tap Reset test to run it again, for example after rotating your phone.
